 Rules and Regulations
« Thread Started on Jan 8, 2008, 9:27pm »

1. No Mary Sues or Jerry Stues. Period.

2. When "in character," you must observe proper spelling and grammar rules. The occasional typo and mistake are fine, but don't make it a habit. In order for the roleplay to flow easily, grammar is a must. Spell-check is your friend.

3. Keep obscenities to a minimum. They are allowed, but if it becomes excessive I will need to make more strict rules on this, and I really don't want to. So be smart about it.

4. When roleplaying, you must follow the basic rules of the book. EX: electronics don't work at hogwarts, nobody can apparate on the grounds, etc.

5. Please roleplay in english. I've seen people RP in spanish on an English speaking site.

6. Respect the other RPers. Disrespect will not be tollerated, and you will only recieve one warning.

7. Always put the names of the characters you want involved in the secondary subject header of a new roleplay thread. If you want anyone who wants to to jump in, or if you want your character to be left alone, type "Open" or "Closed." If it is meant to be only Snape and Dumbledore with no interruptions, put "Snape and Dumbledore." That way your own subplots will not be disturbed by random people jumping in.

8. ACTIVITY IS A MUST. This roleplay runs relatively real-time, and when you start a conversation with someone they don't have days on end to sit there waiting for you to finish.

10. No one line RP posts. Try to get some real content in, otherwise you're wasting everyones time, and it's hard to respond to a single line.

11. Emoticons are only for the Out of Character forum. Unless you can walk around with smiley faces floating over your head, it shouldn't occur in RP.

12. No powerplaying. You may only control your own character. You may not say that someone else's character is doing something unless they've said it first.

13. In your character application DO NOT list which house they are in, unless they have already left Hogwarts.

I will sort the characters, because I said so. That's why.

14. Use a resized copy of your character picture for your avatar. It's cool, and people won't have to go looking for your character bio to remember what you look like. If you are really vehemently against resizing your picture, send it to me and I will do it for you. AMENDMENT: You may only change your character picture to a different picture of the SAME PERSON. Otherwise you confuse people, and I don't want to update your character bio.

15. Stay in character if not in Out of Character forum.

17. Character applications will all be posted in the book of names section. I will not accept something posted in the wrong place.

18. TELL ME if you are going to be inactive. Activity here is a necessity and there are some relatively strict rules in place regarding it, but if you have exams going on, or you're sick, or you're going on vacation, you can be excused! You just have to LET ME KNOW so I can add you to the excused list. ALSO post in your signature that you're gone, and if possible when you left and when you'll be back. That way everyone else will know you're not there too and not try and roleplay with you!

My middle name is Blake.

Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions.
